“As the first gourmet restaurant in France to become a mission-led company, we want to strengthen and uphold our commitments to excellence, innovation and social responsibility. Fine dining has a key role to play in making our regions more attractive and contributes to France’s international reputation.

With this status as a mission-led company, we want to underline our purpose with important objectives which serve the general interest, combining both culinary tradition and responsible innovation.

This is a milestone for our family-run company which demonstrates our desire to continue our story in a meaningful way; I also hope this will inspire others to commit to a truly responsible approach.”

What is a mission-led company?

A mission-led company agrees to uphold social and environmental standards and is recognised in French law.

These companies aim to make a positive contribution to society and the environment by achieving the objectives which they set for themselves.

Article 176 of the Act of 22 May 2019 on the growth and transformation of businesses (the Pacte Act) introduced the concept of a mission-led company. Such companies must publicly affirm their purpose and one or more social and environmental objectives which they have decided to pursue as part of their business activities.

At Restaurant Paul Bocuse, we believe in the idea of a virtuous economy.

These details are recorded in the company’s articles of association and declared to the Registry Office of the Commercial Court, as provided for in the Decree 2020-1 of 2 January 2020.

The Decree of 2 January 2020 also requires an independent third-party organisation to verify the extent to which the social and environmental objectives set out in the company’s articles of association have been achieved; this must take place every two years.
